REPENTANCE! (12/7/11)
Repentance has nothing to do with feeling sorry for yor sins, confessing your sins, or trying to change your behavior through human effort. The true meaning of repentance is to change your mind (or to change your way of thinking). It is to turn from the legalistic mindset to the mindset of grace. This is why the Bible tells us that it is through the foolishness of preaching that repentance occurs. Repentance is to change our thinking and believing in agreement with God and His Word. Repentance doesn't directly have anything to do with our behavior. But right behavior will follow right believing.
NEW WEBSITE DESIGN! (10/10/11)
I made a few modest changes to the overall look
of the website. Please let me know if you like the
new look or not. If you have any specific suggestions
on what kind of website changes we should consider,
please let me know. Thanks.

WE CAN'T PICK AND CHOOSE! (8/24/11)
It's sad that so many "Christians" want to pick and
choose what parts of the Sacred Scriptures to believe
and what parts of the Gospel message to live by. If
we can just casually dismiss any part of Sacred
Scripture as being untrue or if we can casually
dismiss any part of the New Covenant Gospel Message
as not being relevant, what makes any of the rest of
it true or relevant? God help us.
RELIGION IS NOT FROM GOD! (8/20/11)
God is not religious. God's people shouldn't be religious. Religion is man's attempt to find God. But God has already revealed Himself to us in the person of Jesus Christ. Religion separates man from God. People attempt to draw closer to God through religious rituals (infant baptism, confession, tithing, etc.) not knowing that those very religious acts are building a wall of separation between them and God. People go to church and participate in these unbiblical practices to make themselves feel better about themselves, but it pushes them further from the truth of the New Covenant Gospel of Grace. Religion and these rituals originate from Satan himself. God calls us to "Come out from among them.." (II Cor.6:17). Religion and religious rituals give people get a false sense of spiritual security.
NO BETTER PLACE TO BE! (8/13/11)
There's no better place to be on Sunday Mornings than in a good church service with God's people, worshiping our glorious Maker, and receiving an enlightening and refreshing sermon: "For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand [anywhere else]" (Ps 84:10a amp). I hope to see you tomorrow morning at Abiding Life Church.
ARE ALL MARRIAGES SALVAGEABLE? (8/6/11)
Someone recently stated in reference to marriages, "not all unions are salvageable". Saying "not all unions are salvageable" is like saying God's power is limited, it's like saying God's healing power is limited. God desires to save everyone, but not all will receive salvation. God desires to heal all sickness, but not all will receive healing (for various reasons). God also desires to save and heal all marriages, but not all will make the commitment and sacrifices needed in order for it to succeed. At the same time, "there is therefor now no condemnation" (Rom.8:1) if the marriage ends in divorce. But as Christians, we should make every effort to believe God will completely heal these relationships.
WHAT'S THE PURPOSE OF LIFE? (8/1/11)
Why are you here? What's the purpose of your life? My best answer is: it's all about Jesus. "For in Him we live, and move, and have our being.." (Acts 17:28), "Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth" (Col.3:2), "Looking unto Jesus..." (Heb.12:2), "Seek first His Kingdom.." (Mt.6:33). Solomon says, "Fear God and keep His commandments. That's the whole duty of man" (Ecc.12:13). In light of the New Covenant, we know that "fear God" could be translated "worship God". We also know that we are instructed to obey the Spirit of the Word, not the letter of the law (II Cor.3). So a New Covenant paraphrase of Ecc.12:13 could be "Worship God and follow the leading of the Spirit, that's the whole duty of man".
DIVINE HEALING IS FOR TODAY! (7/19/11)
Divine Healing is an under-emphasized ministry that should be a drawing card to the church today. Large crowds gathered to Jesus "to hear and to be healed". The early disciples followed His example and went out preaching the Word, then demonstrated the power of the Kingdom of God by healing the sick. Yet most churches today avoid the topic completely. Even many "full-gospel" and "faith" church, perhaps because they haven't see the results they expected, seem to have "matured" to "deeper" topics of teaching and ministry. Did you know that Jesus said that healing is the "children's bread"? If you are His child, He will not withhold this "bread" from you. Believe and receive. Go to a church that knows the true divine character of God and knows that all His promises are "yes" and "amen" and knows that it's always God's will to heal.
Sunday, July 31st – Sermon by Rev. Teddy Kelemwork! (7/12/11)
Come out to hear a great preacher and Bible teacher, Teddy Kelemwork. Teddy graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center. Later earned a Master’s Degree from Life Christian University. He spent many years as Youth Pastor of the Ethiopian Evangelical Church in DC. He also taught many LCU courses, then started ZADOK University. Currently Teddy is a teacher at Victory Bible College in Ethiopia. Teddy teaches and preaches with passion and enthusiasm the marvelous truths of faith, grace, and righteousness in Christ.
THANK YOU LIFE CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY! (7/9/11)
This morning was the official conclusion of my 9th year as Director of Abiding Life's Life Christian University in Fairfax County, although I still have a lot loose ends to tie, paperwork, etc.. I just want to say a special "thank you" to all the students and instructors that have made those nine years fulfilling and rewarding in many ways. I especially want to thank those students who contributed toward the surprise gift I received after the graduation ceremony. God bless you guys. I know God has many great plans for each of you. Life Christian University in Fairfax County is positioned to reach higher heights and achieve greater success under the leadership of Whole Word Fellowship Pastors Pitts Evans and Gina Cobb.
WHAT'S AHEAD FOR LCU? (6/9/11)
As most of you know, I am stepping down from my roll as Director of Life Christian University of Fairfax County. We started classes in my living room in the fall of 2002. Through the years we've held classes at Bishop Ireton High School, Sangam Restaurant, Ethiopian Evangelical Church, and Whole Word Fellowship (did I forget any?). We are now completing our 9th year in Fairfax County. LCU will continue in Fairfax County under the leadership of Pastors Pitts Evans and Gina Cobb. They will take a few minutes at our graduation ceremony to share their vision for LCU at WWF and their thoughts about the coming 2011/2012 school year. Due to this change, after the graduation, the information about LCU will no longer be available at my abidinglife.net website. I assume WWF will provide LCU information on their website. Congratulations to all the LCU graduates this year, as well as past years. God bless you in your future as you continue to seek Jesus and promote His Kingdom.
WHY DID JESUS SAY 'BE PERFECT'? (5/26/11)
Why did Jesus say "Be Perfect"? Then He added "even as your Heavenly Father is perfect" (Matt.5:48). What exactly did He mean by that statement? Jesus said this in the context of the Sermon on the Mount. This is the same sermon where He says that if your eye offend you pluck it out and if your arm offend you cut it off. Obviously Jesus isn't expecting us to do those things. He was conveying to the people who were trying to live by the law that if the law of God is your standard, nothing less then perfect obedience is acceptable. If obeying the "law" is what you're depending on to give you right standing with God, then certainly cut off anything that will cause you to fail. In that context, be perfect, even as the Heavenly Father is.(read this entire article at www.abidinglife.net/be_perfect).
CHRIST IN YOU, THE HOPE OF GLORY! (5/25/11)
"Christ in you, the hope of glory" (Col.1:27). "..it is not I that lives, but Christ living in me" (Ga.2:20). "Christ in you!" Try to comprehend the reality of that. How can your body continue to be sick when Christ is in you? How can you continue to live in poverty when Christ is in you? How can you be affected or influenced by anything in this world when Christ is in you?
WHAT AN AWESOME GOD! (5/23/11)
This is true gospel: On the cross He took my sins & in exchange gave me His righteousness (Rom.5:17). On the cross He took my illnesses & in exchange gave me His health (I Pe.2:24). On the cross He took my poverty & in exchange gave me His prosperity (II Cor.8:9). On the cross He took calamities & in exchange gave me His protection (Ps.91:1). On the cross He took my fears & in exchange gave me His peace (Rom.5:1) On the cross He took my confusion & in exchange gave me His wisdom (I Cor.1:30). On the cross He took my aimlessness & in exchange gave me His guidance (Rom.8:14). If any of these are true, then they are all true. If any of these is NOT true, how can you know that any IS true? The same God, the same Word of God, promises them all. What an awesome God!

OFFENDED BY GOD'S WORD? (5/18/11)
It's strang that sometimes people who call themselves "Christian" get offended by God's Word. When truth is spoken from God's Word, it doesn't necessarily mean you're being judged. Gods Word is a mirror and It makes us look at ourselves, and It desires to produce change. If we do not desire to change, we tend to get offended. But God's Word embrassed produces LIFE! When we see Jesus in God's Word, it produces Abiding Life.
"Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God's will in thought, purpose, and action)" (II Tim.3:16 amp);
Christ offended people. So much so, they crucified Him. The thing is, we need to see that He took those stripes for us, because He loved us. He undertook such torture, such pain, the nails, the thorns, because He wanted to spare us the consequences of sin. So, when people get offended by His Word it must reflect a lack of faith in His grace and in His truth.
Here's the thing: a "christian" family member always gets upset with me when I quote Bible verses. But God's Word IS my life. It is the air that I breathe. To ask me to not speak God's Word is like asking me not to breathe. If what I say isn't based on God's Word, it is pointless and worthless. The only answers that are worth anything are from our Creator. It is pointless for me to try to address any issue from my own "opinion" apart from God's Word. Jesus is the Author and Finisher of our faith (He.12:2). He is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end (Rev.1:11). So He has the final word on every subject. What we think (human opinion) on any subject is worthless apart from God's Word.
HOW TO HAVE ANSWERED PRAYER! (5/4/11)
How to get your prayers answered: "Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we KNOW that we HAVE the petitions that we have asked of Him" (I John 5:14-15). We no longer have to question if God will hear and answer our prayers. We can and should pary with confidence. Plan big and ask big, according to His will. Let's not limit God with our limited thinking. God is on your side!
TWO NEW FEATURES ON OUR SITE! (5/3/11)
Check our "Faith Forum", our new Message Board. I started the ball rolling, but please add some comments or start new topics (www.abidinglife.net/faith_forum). Also check out our new Abiding Life Calendar. You can view it by the month or by the week or by the day. Let me know what you think of it. Additional events and activities will be added to it in the weeks and months to come(www.abidinglife.net/calendar. Please let me know what you think of these new features.
GOD CANNOT BE ANGRY WITH YOU! (5/2/11)
How's this for a radical grace statement: God will not, & cannot, ever be angry with you. God exhausted His anger on the body of Jesus. God knew about all your sins & shortcomings: past, present, & future, before the foundations of the Earth. He poured all His wrath on the body of Jesus. Don't be afraid that something you did or will do might anger God.When God looks at you He doesn't see your sin, He sees righteousness. He has given you the free gift of righteousness. Righteousness cannot be obtained through righteous actions and deeds. righteousness can only come through faith in the blood of Jesus.
DO WE HAVE TO TOLERATE SICKESS IN THIS FALLEN WORLD? (5/1/11)
"God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar" (Rom.3:4); Thank God that Jesus has already overcome this fallen world (Jn.16:33). "This is the victory that overcomes the world: even our faith" (I Jn.5:4). I believe God means what He says. On our own, of course we cannot escape sickness, pain, and the aging process. But He has already taken it all upon Himself on the cross in order to deliver us from them. Hallelujah! As long as you believe you have to have pain, then you'll have to have pain ("Be it unto acccording to what you believe" - Matt.9:29). But I choose to believe that God is not a man that He would lie. He means exactly what He says. Healing is major part of the New Covenant.
WHY DID JESUS WEEP? (4/27/11)
We all know the shortest verse in the Bible, "Jesus wept" (John 11:35). But why did Jesus weep? A friend of mine says that it is because he loved Martha and Mary so much that He felt their pain and suffering for the loss of their brother Lazarus. Maybe. I believe He is touched with our feelings and emotions. But even people very close to Him were in unbelief. I've always believed that that was what troubled Him. He knew that what He was about to do would bring abundant joy to them, so their state of sorrow was very temporary. But the troubling thing was that they didn't even conceive of the possibility of Lazarus coming back to life, except for in a future resurrection day for everyone. Just like Christians today, they just pushed the answer off into the future, not even considering that Jesus was there to meet there needs and desires "now".
IT IS FINISHED! (4/26/11)
Believe & understand that the work of the cross fully finished the job, totally & completely; See & comprehend that He has already made you righteous, He has already healed you, He already made you whole. Speak it, Receive it, and walk in it; It is finished. It is done. It is accomplished.
YOU ARE CALLED INTO THE MINISTRY! (4/17/11)
You need to know this: you, as a follower of Christ, are definitely called into the ministry. A simple study of the New Testament makes it very clear that all Christians are called into the ministry. This is evident in the Book of Acts as well as in the Book of First Corinthians. Paul uses the analogy of a human body, stating that we are the Body of Christ. He conveys the truth that every member of the body has a function and if any part of the human body doesn't function according to its' purpose it will negatively impact other parts of the body.
GOD SAYS, "I WILL BE YOUR GOD!" (4/5/11)
When God says, "I will be your God,"(Hebr.8:10) that is a declaration that He will work miracles in your life. He is more than enough for you. What ever you need, He wants to be the supply to meet that need, above and beyond what is needed. Allow Him to be the center of all you do today and allow Him to perform a miracle for you today.
PRAISE AND WORSHIP AT THE PRAYER CENTER! (4/3/11)
Every second Monday night at The Prayer Center at 7 p. m. a praise and worship leader leads in a time of praise and worship. For about 1.5 hours, all who attend take time to be in God's presence. The Holy Spirit moves as He wills. Sometimes there's special prayer, prophetic singing, or a Word from the the Lord. The times are always refreshing in God's presence. Directions and additional information is available at www.aliveglobal.com.
CHRISTIAN SOCIAL WEBSITES! (3/20/11)
Social Media is the "in" thing now. I am sure that everyone who reads this is familiar with facebook and probably have a facebook page. Now there are also a few "Christian" Social Websites. One that I recommend you join is "GraceHope.com". Another one is "IGlobalLegacy.org". GraceHope.com originates from Singapore, and is very heavily influenced by the teachings of Joseph Prince. IGlobalLegacy.org is a ministry of Bethel church, pastored by Bill Johnson in Redding, CA. Neither of these sites are as user-friendly nor a well developed as Facebook, but it's great to connect with like-minded believers around the world.
RESTING, RELAXING, AND YIELDING! (3/19/11)
Our "work" is to "rest" in Him. We are to "labor" to "rest" in His finished work. We could say that Christianity is "relaxing". Learing to relax in His rest, in His goodness, in His righteousness, in His redemption, in His health, and in His provision. We also call this learning to "yield" to His Spirit. Resting in Christ isn't laziness. Resting in Him is yielding to His Spirit. If we are fully yielded to His Spirit we will be busy, but fully in step with His will and led by the Holy Ghost. So Christianity is resting, relaxying, and yielding. God is so good!
THE LOVE OF CHRIST! (3/9/11)
Who shall ever separate us from Christ's love? Shall suffering and affliction and tribulation? Or calamity and distress? Or persecution or hunger or destitution or peril or sword? ... Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through Him Who loved us. For I am persuaded beyond doubt (am sure) that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor things impending and threatening nor things to come, nor powers, Nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:35-39 amp)
NEW COVENANT! (3/5/11)
What is the new covenant? It is the covenant of grace, favor, love, and power based on the blood of Jesus. Grace is unmerited, undeserved, unearned favor. God wants us to know that He made and established this covenant with us through Christ as our representative. According to this covenant, we have His divine undeserved favor.
HEBREWS FOUR TELLS US TO REST! (2/21/11)
Hebrews 4 speaks a lot about the importance of RESTING in Him and in His promises. This is a key missing element in the church today. This is the key that makes our faith effective. We need to REST in what He has accomplished. We need to REST in the cross. We need to REST in all His promises which are "Yes and Amen". We need to LABOR to enter His REST (4:11).
EMBRACE HIS GRACE! (2/15/11)
Embrace His Grace. Have faith in His Grace. We should put our faith in what he has already done. We need to rest in what he has already accomplished. If we, as believers, would ever wholly embrace the grace of God, and free ourselves from a law-mentality, it would be impossible for acts of sin to have any part in our lives. (Rom.5:2)

LOOKING UNTO JESUS FOR HEALING! (2/3/2011) |
|
"Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith..."(He.12:2). If you are sick, you must know that you are already healed because of the finished work of Christ. Don't ask, "Do I have enough faith to be healed? Do I have the right kind of faith to be healed? What if I am lacking in faith?" You are focusing on yourself and your faith, instead of Christ and His finished work. You should be asking, "Did Jesus take away this sickness? If He did, then He must have done a perfect work." In other words, fix your eyes on Jesus and His perfect work.

AB Simpson, who lived in the 19th century, wrote an article entitled Himself. In it, he mentioned his exhausted nervous system, and broken-down heart which could have proved fatal any time. So he sought the Lord for healing. God showed him Matthew 8:17, which says that Jesus "Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses". AB Simpson said that though he believed that Jesus had borne away his sicknesses, he saw many hindrances which stood between him and his healing. And they all boiled down to one thing ? his preoccupation with his faith! He had believed that if only he had the "right" kind of faith, he would receive his healing instantly. He eventually came to the realization that he had to remove that last hindrance ? his focus on his faith ? and just rest in the finished work of Christ. That revelation marked his complete recovery from his sicknesses.

There is no doubt, from our knowledge of Scripture that Jesus wants you healed and whole. In fact as far as He is concerned, it's done. You are healed and whole already. See the reality of it. Speak it as if it is done. Fully believe it and rest in the finished work of the cross.

RADICAL GRACE! (1/20/11)
Let's examine the definition of Grace from a biblical point of view. I know that there are many common definitions such as "unmerited favor" or "God's riches at Christ's expense". I just know there is far more to Grace than this, so let's take a deeper look. Jesus had a mission on Earth. In John 1:14 we see His mission was two fold. In this verse He introduces Grace and Truth! In verse 16 He says that in His fullness we have all received grace. In the fullness of Christ there is an overflowing of Grace. It's in His very nature to demonstrate an abundance of Grace. If you were to take on His nature more and more, rather than your own nature, you too would be growing in this fullness of Grace. John goes on to say that the law was given through Moses, but Grace came through Christ.as did truth. Acts 20:24 Paul says that he was sent to preach the Gospel of the Grace of God. Paul preached the gospel of Grace, and not the gospel of Law. It was this grace that we really need to understand as a basic biblical doctrine if we as a Church are to ever become the light of the world that He intends us to be. Truth brings light. Truth and grace go hand in hand.
SMALL BEGINNINGS! (1/19/11)
Never think that what you are doing for the Kingdom of God is insignificant. Never have the attitude that if you don't reach large groups, you have little importanct in His church. It is important for us to understand that we never start at the top. "Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase" (Job 8:7). You start at the bottom and take one step at a time. Do the task that God puts before you, and never despise small beginnings. You'll never know the end result until you step out in faith and put God to the test. Your faith grows every time you step out. If you don't have the faith to believe God for a loaf of bread to feed your family, you certainly won't have the faith to believe God to move a mountain - not yet. But continue minstering God's Word in what ever forum He provides. Those few lives you are reaching now, may produce the next Billy Graham, Oral Roberts, Kenneth Hagin, or Joseph Prince.
ZADOK UNIVERSITY IS GOING ON-LINE IN AUGUST! (1/18/11)
ZADOK is gearing up to start classes in August, 2011. We will have both classroom and on-line students. Our website, www.abidinglife.net/ZADOK always has the latest information about ZADOK University.
GOD CAN HANDLE IT! (1/11/11)
We can rest in the fact that nothing in our lives is left to chance. Our God loves us too much to not take care when handling our lives. He knows what He is doing. Guard your hearts, rest in peace, and walk in faith.
2011: A Year of Divine Favor! (1/2/11)
I am excited about 2011! God has great things in-store for us! God has laid on my heart that 2011 will be a year of Divine Favor. As always, your prayers are greatly appreciated and are bearing precious fruit. As we move forward, we believe and we are convinced that God has great things in store for Abiding Life Church, our University, and our Outreach Ministries. God is raising up this congregation to supernaturally impact this region in an unprecedented way. Your prayers will help this statement became a manifested reality.
Join us This Sunday! (1/1/11)
This Sunday my sermon will be titled, "Write the Vision, Make it Plain". I will be sharing God's vision for our church, our university, our broadcast, our missions efforts, and other aspects of Abiding Life Christian Ministries for the year 2011 and beyond. I encourage you to come and be a part of this service. Several people have asked me what the plans are for our University and what is the difference between LCU and ZADOK. This is one of the areas that I hope to discuss at Church this Sunday. I encourage you to try to come. I will try to allow time for questions at this service.
