Abiding in the Life of the Spirit and the Word!

Abiding in the Vine               October 20, 2010

Abiding Life Church   officially   started   on Sunday,  10/10/10!

The service went well, with Bruce Walsh leading us in songs and Florencia and Lucita Inscoe teaching the Children. I gave a sermon on "The Abiding Life Vision Part One: The Significance of 10.10.10". I gave part two of the sermon on the following Sunday, 10/17/10, with Bobby Jackson leading worship. Please consider joining us this coming Sunday. Bruce Walsh will be leading worship, and I will deliver a sermon on "The Greatest Expression of Faith". Please continue to keep our church in your prayers.

Water Baptism:

Some time next month we would like to have a Water Baptismal Service. If you are interested in getting Water Baptized, please let us know ASAP. The Water Baptismal service will be on a Saturday evening sometime in November. This is your opportunity to make a public declaration of your faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. I will give a brief teaching on the subject before the actual baptism so that everyone will have a clear understanding of the importance and significance of water baptism.

 Reformation Day Celebration!

Instead of celebrating demons, fear, ghosts, and witches, Christians should celebrate something positive that took place nearly 500 years ago on October 31st. The most significant event of Christianity since the Canonization of Scripture occurred on this date. The preservation of the gospel of Christ is always worth celebrating, now as in any era.

In 1517, one very notable event was carried out by Martin Luther as he strove to return the church to purity of faith in the midst of growing corruption. His challenge to draw the church from the interference of merely human influences and back to a life founded upon the Word of God was issued in the form of ninety-five theses. A world-wide movement which became known as the Protestant Reformation began and radical changes occurred in Christianity, returning it closer to it's original belief and structure.

In honor of the 31st of October's Reformation Day (a day meant to celebrate the preservation of the glorious gospel of our salvation by grace), we celebrate God's abundant goodness toward us. We will want to gather that Sunday evening for a time of celebration with family, fellowship, food, and fun. (Please call me for time, location, and details).

  Weekly Bible Study Fellowship!
Come fellowship with us on Friday evenings at the home of Charles, Florencia, and Lucita Inscoe in Springfield, VA. This is a time of fellowshiping around God's Word. Currently the discussion evolves around  "Faith Extenders". Please call me if you need the address or directions.

Rivers of Living Water is a television broadcast featuring the best in Christian music and a portion of a sermon or teaching. Currently, it is being aired in Fairfax County, on FPA Cox 10. Later, we expect it to be broadcast on both television and radio within the greater Washington, DC area, with the vision of eventually reaching outside this metropolitan area in the years to come.

We need volunteers who are willing to assist or take leadership in the areas of editing and video taping of Christian concerts. Please let me know if this is something that you can help with. Training is available. Of course, for our LCU students, this could count toward your Ministry Practicum credit for the 2010/2011 school year.

Abiding Life Church: Our Vision

Our vision includes starting a strong Supernatural, Grace-Proclaiming, Word of Faith congregation within the "inside the beltway" area of Northern Virginia. One of the purposes of this new church is to grow strong supernatural Word of Faith individuals who'll turn their worlds upside down for Christ and impact their cultures in an unprecedented way.

Eph.4:12 - "...for the perfecting of the saints for the work of the ministry for the edifying of the body of Christ!"

Our vision is that God will help us to use our gifts, talents, and abilities for Abiding Life to become a true New Testament Church resembling the church of the Book of Acts, abiding in the life of the Spirit and the Word, presenting the Full Gospel messages of Grace, Faith, Sonship, & the Spirit-led Life.

Our primary focus is to teach people who they are in Christ and what they have in Him as we prepare for the Latter Rain Flood that was promised in the Book of Joel and to walk by grace though faith in the Covenant blessings of the Kingdom of God

BUDDY WALK NO.VA
Kenny is once again participating in the Buddy Walk in Northern Virginia. The Buddy Walk is an opportunity for anyone and everyone to walk - or support a walker - and raise funds for the Down Syndrome Association of Northern Virginia and the National Down Syndrome Society. Last year alone, over $10.5 million dollars was raised nationwide for local and national education, research, and advocacy programs through the Buddy Walk program. We are asking you to Buddy Walk with Kenny - either by joining his team or by sponsoring him - to benefit local programs of the DSANV and the national advocacy efforts of the NDSS. Your contribution will help strengthen our ability to serve the individuals with Down syndrome and their families impacted by this genetic condition. How far we walk is not as important as why we are walking, and how much we'll make a difference in the lives of all individuals with Down syndrome and their families. You can join Kenny's Krew by going to http://www.dsanv.org/, click on the Buddy Walk link on the right side of the page. Then click on the team listings link on the right side of that page. Abiding in the Life of the Spirit and the Word!
Abiding in the Vine       July 20, 2010
Family and Friends,

Please vote on our poll question. Every month I change the poll question. Your opinion is important to us. This month I am re-considering what our church name should be. The official name of the ministry is Abiding Life Christian Ministries and that will not change. Abiding Life Christian Ministries covers the church, Life Christian University of Fairfax County, Rivers of Living Water, Abiding Life Missions, and any other ministry we do.

My original idea for the church name was Abiding Life Christian Fellowship. But I changed my mind and began to promote the name Faith Christian Fellowship of Northern Virginia for two reasons. First of all, because I am ordained through Faith Christian Fellowship International and I wanted our church to be an associate or affiliate church with that organization.

But also, I wanted people to know beyond a doubt that we are going to be a Word of Faith church and will not compromise the Faith principles which are seen in Scripture. By using a name like Faith Christian Fellowship, I assumed that people would know that we are a faith church.

But lately, I have been re-thinking this. The original name that God gave me for this ministry is "Abiding Life", I am  thinking that perhaps Abiding Life Christian Fellowship or Abiding Life Church is the name we should go with. Please Go to www.abidinglife.net/polling_booth to let us know your opinion on this month's question.

HOW TO LIVE A BLESSED LIFE!
There are many promises in Scripture for great blessings upon believers. Many of us have studied and claimed the promised blessings of prosperity and abundance in Deut.28. We are to be the head and not the tail, above and not beneath. Paul told the Philippians that God will supply all our need according to His riches in glory (Ph.4:19).

There are promises of health (I Pe.2:24; Ps.103:3). There are promises of wealth (II Cor.8:9; 9:6-10). There are promises for long life (Ps.91:16, Eph.6:1-2). There are promises of wisdom (Jas.1:5; Col.2:3) and there are promises for guidance (Rm.8:14; John 14-16). There are promises of supernatural power (Mk.16:15-20; I Cor.12-14) and there are many other promises given to us in Scripture by our Creator.

Not only that. He promises to bless us beyond anything that we could ask or think. I don't know about you, but I can ask and think pretty big. Yet, He promises to exceed that! You can read this full article at our website at www.abidinglife.net/blessed.

"I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit He taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, He purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Now ye are clean through the Word which I have spoken unto you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in Me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in Me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without Me ye can do nothing" (John 15:1-5)

Abiding Life Family and Friends:

Thank you for your faithful prayers for my wife. She is getting stronger and healthier by the day. She is a walking testimony of the supernatural power of God. It is not just prayers, but specifically prayers of Faith that moves the hand of God. Jesus promised us in the Gospel of Mark that if you lay hands ont the sick, "they SHALL RECOVER!" She is recovering. Jesus is the Healer.

Once again, I'd like to encourage you to join our Launch Team. With less than four months to go before the start of our new church, it is important that we have the right people in the right position in order to go in the right direction. God is faithful and I know that He is drawing exceptional faithful leaders to this ministry. If you feel that tug, please don't ignor it. God wants to do great things through you. Perhaps it will be through the vehicle of Faith Christian Fellowship of Northern Virginia.

And Areas inside the Capital Beltway in Northern Virginia!

It has seemed to me for years that there is a giant spiritual void in the inside the Beltway areaWashington Monument of Northern Virginia. There have been good like-minded churches in the past, but as they have grown, they moved west or south to the more distant suburbs. I want FCFnv to begin in the "Inside the Beltway" area and I want it to STAY in the "Inside the Beltway" area.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that there are not already fine churches in this area, because there certainly are. And I don't want to give the impression that FCFnv will be perfect in every way. But we will be a church that will strive to not compromise Scripture at all and will primarily focus on promoting God's Truths especially in these four key ares: Grace, Faith, Sonship, and the Spirit-led life. We also always want to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit and His spiritual gifts.
Housing Needed for Minister Visiting from Africa!
Pastor Kenneth Mutyaba and an associate of his from Abiding Life Christian Centre in Uganda desire to be in our metro area during the month of October this year. He said the airline tickets are already purchased. The only thing they still need is someone to provide housing for that month. Does anyone have an extra room or two for these great men of faith?

ARE YOU SEEING YOURSELF AS GOD SEES YOU!

The Bible tells us in the Book of Judges about the time in Israel's history when God used judges to deliver His people from oppression. Gideon was one such judge. When we find him, he is threshing wheat in a wine press to hide it from the Miidianites. It seems that Gideon may have been contemplating or inwardly complaining about the impoverished situation of Israel at that time. If nothing else, he definitely had very negative thoughts about God's deliverance for Israel. Gideon saw himself as a victum and a weak leader on the verge of defeat. But God saw him as a "Mighty Man of Valor" (Judges 6:11-16).

"While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal" (II Cor.4:18). Don't fix your sight on the things that are obvious in the natural realm. Look at what God says is a reality. We are to walk by faith, not by physical sight (II Cor.5:7). "Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world" (I John 4:17). This is how God sees you.

God sees you as a new creation, "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new" (II Cor.5:17). God sees you operating in the wisdom and righteousness of Jesus Christ, "But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption" (I Cor.1:30; 2:16). He sees you a healthy and prosperous (I Pe.2:24; Phil.4:19; II Cor.8:9; 9:6-10; Is.53:1-6).

Praise God for His goodness and His grace. I hope you enjoy the new look of our e-newsletter. I am experimenting with some templates and ideas for improving the look of our e-mails. I welcome any feedback you want to give me about the appearance and content of our newsletters. I've been sending out three e-newsletters every month. If you are not getting all three, but would like to, please let me know.

On the 10th of each month, I send out "LCU News" to all our current Life Christian University students as well as some past LCU students and others who have expressed interest in our Life Christian University classes. On the 20th of each month, I send out "the Vine", the official monthly newsletter of Abiding Life Christian Ministries. On the 30th of each month, I send out an e-newsletter to our "Prayer Partners", people who have agreed to faithfully pray for Abiding Life Christian Ministries and Faith Christian Fellowship of Northern Virginia.

I am getting excited about what God is doing here in Northern Virginia. I am blessed to be a small part of something great that is about to happen in the Alexandria, Annandale, Arlington  area. With less than five months to go before the target launch date of Faith Christian Fellowship of Northern Virginia, God is fine-tuning within us His desire and will for this region.

The new official date for our LCU 2010 Graduation Ceremony is 7/10/10. The ceremony will be at Church at Northern Virginia, 10922 Vale Road, Oakton, VA. The ceremony will begin at 10:30AM, but I would like everyone involved in the ceremony, including the graduates and instructors, to be there at 9:00AM. Don't be afraid of inviting a lot of people. Bring as many family and friends as you can. This may be one of our most effective forms of advertising our school. Also, please consider bringing some refreshments.

Also, it's not too early to start planning for the 2010/2011 school year. Our tentative schedule is posted ay our website, www.abidinglife.net/2010_2011_calendar.
